論「謂如雌鷄至其力亦爾」，此顯喻也。《正理論》云「生性既無異，功能何有別？如受領納，性雖無異而有差別損益功能。又本相、隨相境有多少，如五識、意識境有少多。」

On the passage in the śāstra from “Just as a hen…” to “…its power is also like this”: This illustrates the analogy. The Nyāyānusāra states: “Since the nature of arising does not differ, how can their functional capacities differ? Just as with sensation (vedanā), whose nature of experiencing does not differ yet has distinct functional capacities of harming or benefiting. Furthermore, the cognitive domains of the primary characteristics and the secondary characteristics are few or many, just as the domains of the five sensory consciousnesses and the mental consciousness are few or many.”
