論「云何待至能生無表」，有部反難經部成自義也。由多念表色念念漸生入於過去，最後表剎那無表方生，聲生於名義亦准此。

On the Śāstra's statement: "How is it that, depending on [...], unmanifest form can be generated?": The Sarvāstivādin counter-challenges the Sautrāntika to establish their own position. Through the manifest forms of multiple moments gradually arising moment by moment and passing into the past, only at the final moment of manifest form is unmanifest form generated; the generation of a name by sound should also be understood according to this.
