6.12

論「應知此生至是能作因」，答也。雖智障漏生、光障覩星，漏生之時智無障住、覩星之時光無障住，若為能障即不得生。

The Śāstra says, “It should be known that when this arises... is an efficient cause,” which is the answer. Although knowledge obstructs the arising of defilements, and light obstructs seeing the stars, at the time when defilements arise, knowledge abides without obstructing, and at the time of seeing stars, light abides without obstructing; if they acted as obstructions, [the fruits] could not arise.
