論「業或少果至諾瞿陀等」，明因少果多也。此中或少果者，非謂因多果也，欲顯少餘多果因也。如穀、麥等，一粒之因可得百千之果，名種果少。如蓮、石榴等，一粒之因一年之果，已得百千多年之果不可稱計。

On the Śāstra's: "Karma may have few results [...] like the nyagrodha, and so forth": this clarifies that causes are few while results are many. Here, "may have few results" does not mean causes are many and results are [few]; it intends to show the cause having few [seeds] while yielding many fruits. As with grain, barley, and the like, a single grain as cause can yield hundreds or thousands of fruits, which is called a seed with few fruits; as with the lotus, pomegranate, and the like, a single seed as cause produces hundreds or thousands of fruits in one year, and its fruits over many years are beyond reckoning.
