論「若異此者至為令其滅」，經部更難有部。過去已滅、現在正滅，何用修道令其滅也。
[When] the treatise [states]: "If it were otherwise ... in order to make it cease," the Sautrāntika further challenges the Vaibhāṣika: "The past has already ceased and the present is currently ceasing; what use would there be in cultivating the path to make them cease?"
