論「我亦不說至此為第一」，經部釋也。如說此聲有、先非有等，即此非有不是有故，有義得成，非是有體。一切有、非有中，此最可稱歎，故經歎說此為第一。

[When] the treatise [states]: "Neither do I state ... this is supreme," the Sautrāntika explains: "Just as when one says 'this sound exists,' 'it previously did not exist,' and so forth, precisely this non-existence is not existent, and thus the sense of existence is accomplished; it is not an existent entity. Among all that is existent and non-existent, this is the most praiseworthy; therefore, the sūtra praises it by saying that this is supreme."
