論「此非有體至如眼耳等」,經部出無現、比二量過也。一無二量失、二違彼事滅失。違二量者,謂無如色、受等現量可知。如眼、耳等以有用故,比量可知。
[When] the treatise [states]: "This does not have an entity ... like the eye, ear, and so forth," the Sautrāntika presents the fault of lacking both direct perception (pratyakṣa) and inference (anumāna): "First is the fault of lacking the two means of valid cognition (pramāṇa), and second is the fault of contradicting the cessation of that matter. Contradicting the two means of valid cognition means that it cannot be known through direct perception like form, sensation, and so forth; nor, like the eye, ear, and so forth, can it be known through inference on account of having a function."
