7.53

論「如是已釋至增上緣故」，此出增上緣體。准此論云「即增上緣」，故知緣即因也。若是相似，何得言即？

On the Śāstra's statement: "Having thus explained [the object-condition, we should explain the sovereign condition] ... because it is the sovereign condition": this presents the essence of the sovereign condition (adhipatipratyaya). According to this treatise saying "that is the sovereign condition", we know that the condition is precisely the cause. If it were only an analogy/resemblance, how could it say "is precisely"?
