8.120

論「如是分別至其九者何」，已下一頌第四明九有情居。九有情居非經所說，因釋經中說七識住故便釋也。

The verse commentary states: "Having distinguished in this manner [...] what are the nine?" From here down, one verse fourthly clarifies the nine abodes of sentient beings (sattvāvāsa). The nine abodes of sentient beings are not spoken of in this sūtra, but are explained here by way of explaining the seven stations of consciousness mentioned in the sūtra.
