「論曰至唯在有情」，明說唯有情所以也。佛為遣他三際愚惑。三際愚惑，謂我過去是有、非有等。此之疑惑唯在有情，故就有情說緣起也。

"The Śāstra says: ... up to 'only exists in sentient beings'": this clarifies the reason for speaking only of sentient beings. The Buddha did so to dispel other beings' delusion and perplexity regarding the three temporal limits. The delusion and perplexity regarding the three limits refers to: 'Did I exist in the past, or did I not exist?' and so forth. This kind of perplexity exists only in sentient beings, and therefore conditioned arising was spoken of in terms of sentient beings.
