論「從欣受愛起欲等取」,此明愛緣取也。言等者,等戒、見、我語取也。經部宗不同有部於一境上愛增為取,即以四取以為取支體也。

The treatise says: "From the craving that delights in feeling, grasping for desires and the rest arises." This clarifies craving conditioning grasping. The word "and the rest" includes grasping at rules and observances, grasping at views, and grasping at doctrines of self. Unlike the Sarvāstivāda school, in which the intensification of craving toward a single sense object constitutes grasping, the Sautrāntika school takes the four graspings themselves as the substantial entity of the grasping link.
