9.31

論「設有肉聚至漸待此時」，此與大德意同，未遇生緣在中有住。今詳此釋，中、生同業，亦不多時必遇生緣，不可在中有過百年等。

On the Śāstra's 'Even if there were a mass of flesh... gradually waits for this time': this agrees with the Bhadanta's idea that, having not yet met the conditions for birth, it dwells in the intermediate existence. Now examining this explanation: intermediate and birth existences share the same karma, so it also will not be long before it must meet the conditions for birth; it cannot dwell in the intermediate existence for more than a hundred years or the like.
