且初正明廢立者，論云：「何緣世尊說餘心所，總置行蘊，分別受、想為二蘊耶（心所有四十六，唯除受、想。餘四十四入行蘊攝，名餘心所）？」頌曰：

First, directly clarifying the rejection and establishment, the treatise says: 'For what reason did the World-Honoured One place the remaining mental factors collectively into the saṃskāra-skandha, while distinguishing feeling and perception as two skandhas (mental factors are forty-six; excluding only feeling and perception, the remaining forty-four are subsumed within the saṃskāra-skandha, and are called remaining mental factors)?' The verse says:
