且初第一攝法蘊者，論云：「諸契經中有餘種種蘊，及處、界名相可得，為即此攝？為離彼耶（經中種種蘊及處、界者，蘊者謂八萬法蘊，於戒等五蘊名種種蘊。處謂十遍處、八勝處、五解脫處、無想天處、非想天處，名種種處。界謂六十二界、地等六界，名種種界。此經中蘊，為即此論五蘊所攝？此經中處，為即此論十二處攝？此經中界，為即此論十八界攝？為離彼蘊、處、界耶）？彼皆此攝，如應當知（此論文總答前問。彼經中蘊、處、界皆此論中蘊、處、界攝，如其所應當知，下文當辨），且辨攝餘諸蘊名相。」頌曰：

First, regarding the initial [topic], subsuming the dharma-skandhas: The śāstra states: "In various sūtras, other diverse skandhas, as well as the designations and characteristics of āyatanas and dhātus, are found. Are they subsumed under these [aggregates, bases, and elements expounded here], or are they distinct from them? (The 'diverse skandhas, āyatanas, and dhātus in the sūtras' refers to: the skandhas being the eighty thousand dharma-skandhas, and in relation to morality and so forth, the five skandhas are called 'diverse skandhas'; the āyatanas being the ten all-pervading bases, eight bases of mastery, five bases of liberation, the base of the non-conceptual gods, and the base of neither-conceptual-nor-non-conceptual, which are called 'diverse bases'; the dhātus being the sixty-two elements, the six elements of earth and so forth, which are called 'diverse elements'. Are these skandhas in the sūtras subsumed precisely under the five skandhas of this treatise? Are these āyatanas in the sūtras subsumed precisely under the twelve āyatanas of this treatise? Are these dhātus in the sūtras subsumed precisely under the eighteen dhātus of this treatise? Or are they distinct from those skandhas, āyatanas, and dhātus?) They are all subsumed under these, as should properly be understood. (This sentence of the śāstra answers the preceding question in general: those skandhas, āyatanas, and dhātus in the sūtras are all subsumed under the skandhas, āyatanas, and dhātus in this treatise; as should properly be understood, which will be differentiated in the text below.)
