且初明障體者，論云：「薄伽梵說重障有三：謂業障、煩惱障、異熟障。如是三障其體是何？」頌曰：
First, explaining the entities of the obstructions, the Śāstra states: "The Bhagavān said that there are three grave obstructions: karmic obstruction, affliction obstruction, and fruition obstruction. What are the entities of these three obstructions?" The verse states:
