18.34

問：「設有一女人羯剌藍墮，餘女人收取，置產門中生子，殺何成害母逆？」答：「頌言『母謂因彼血』，言彼血者，本生母也。殺成逆罪，身生本故。雖殺後母，無有逆罪。諸有所作，應諮後母，養汝身故。」

Question: "Suppose a woman's embryo (kalala) falls out, and another woman takes it, places it into her birth canal, and gives birth to a child: which one does killing constitute the immediate sin of matricide?" Answer: "The verse says: '"Mother" refers to [her] from whose blood one came.' 'From whose blood' means the original birth mother. Killing her constitutes the immediate sin, because she is the source from which the body arose. Although one kills the stepmother, there is no immediate sin. In all that one undertakes, one should consult the stepmother, because she nurtured your body."
