從此第二，明有隨眠心。論云：「若心由彼名有隨眠，彼於此心定隨增（問也）？此不決定，或有隨增，謂與心相應及緣心未斷；相應已斷則不隨增。依此義門，故作是說。」頌曰：
From here, the second part explains the mind possessed of latent defilements. The treatise says: 'If a mind is called "possessed of latent defilements" on account of them, do they definitely increase with respect to this mind? (This is a question.) This is not definite. In some cases they increase, meaning when they are associated with the mind and when they take the mind as an object without having been abandoned; when associated but already abandoned, they do not increase. It is based on this principle that this is stated.' The verse says:
