21.75

對治起故斷者，明斷修惑，由第四因，此名對治起故斷，謂九品修惑由九品能對治道斷，若上上品惑，下下品道為對治，乃至下下品惑，上上品道為對治。此對治門後當廣釋。

As for '[and] through the arising of antidotes, they are abandoned', this explains the abandonment of the afflictions [abandoned] by cultivation by means of the fourth cause; this is called abandonment through the arising of antidotes. It means that the nine grades of afflictions [abandoned] by cultivation are abandoned by the nine grades of paths serving as antidotes: for the highest-of-the-highest grade of affliction, the lowest-of-the-lowest grade of path is the antidote, and so forth up to: for the lowest-of-the-lowest grade of affliction, the highest-of-the-highest grade of path is the antidote. This system of antidotes will be explained in detail later.
