22.31

治相違者，此明喜足少欲與此不喜足大欲相違也。界三者，喜足少欲若有漏者通三界，若無漏者通九地，所治二種唯在欲界。

"Countering their opposites": this explains that contentment and having few desires run counter to this discontentment and great desire. "Existing in three realms": if contaminated, contentment and having few desires are common to the three realms; if undefiled, they are common to the nine stages; the two things to be countered exist only in the desire realm.
