22.4

釋曰：前已廣說諸煩惱斷，由見諦道及修道故。於中見道唯是無漏，修道通二種，謂有漏、無漏也。十五心位見道，速能治三界故、於四諦下一剎那中頓斷九品見所斷故，非有漏道有此堪能，故唯無漏。

Explanation: It has been extensively explained above that the abandonment of the defilements is due to the path of seeing the truths and the path of cultivation. Among them, the path of seeing is solely untainted, while the path of cultivation comprises both, namely tainted and untainted. In the stage of fifteen moments of mind, the path of seeing quickly remedies the three realms, and in a single instant beneath the four truths it suddenly abandons the nine grades of what is abandoned by seeing; tainted paths do not possess this capability, and therefore it is solely untainted.
