從此第四，明近分道，論云：「諸依近分離下地染，如無間道皆近分攝，諸解脫道亦近分耶（問也）？不爾（答也）。云何（徵也）？」頌曰：
Next, fourth, to explain the threshold path (sāmantaka-mārga), the treatise says: "For those who rely on the threshold to abandon the defilements of lower stages, just as the uninterrupted path is included in the threshold, are the paths of liberation also included in the threshold? (This is a question.) They are not. (This is an answer.) How so? (This is an inquiry.)" The verse says:
