26.97

釋曰：見道忍智起，即彼未來修者，於見道中八忍、七智，忍正起時修未來忍，智正起時修未來智。此之忍、智先未曾得，故不相修，唯修同類。

The commentary explains: "When the receptivities and knowledges of the path of seeing arise, those very future ones are cultivated": in the path of seeing, among the eight receptivities and seven knowledges, when a receptivity is actually arising, it cultivates future receptivity; when a knowledge is actually arising, it cultivates future knowledge. These receptivities and knowledges have not been attained before; hence they do not cultivate each other, but cultivate only their own kind.
