Regarding "locomotion is threefold: mental speed is the Buddha's; transporting the body and imaginative resolve are shared": this explains the sphere of locomotion. Locomotion is of three kinds: first, transporting the body, which means traveling through space like a flying bird; second, imaginative resolve, which means conceptualizing an extremely distant place as near, whereby one can arrive quickly; third, mental speed, which means arriving instantly upon raising the thought of an extremely distant place; because this speed is like the mind, it obtains the name "mental speed." Mental speed belongs only to the Buddha, while transporting the body and imaginative resolve are also shared with the two vehicles.
