釋曰：名雖十八，實體十一，謂初五支，即五實事；第二靜慮三支同前，增內淨一，足前成六；第三靜慮定支同前，增餘四支，足前成十；第四靜慮三支同前，增非苦樂受，足前成十一。

Explanation: Although there are eighteen names, there are eleven real entities. That is, the initial five factors are precisely five real entities; the second dhyāna has three factors identical to the preceding, adding internal serenity as one, making six when added to the preceding; the third dhyāna has the concentration factor identical to the preceding, adding the other four factors, making ten when added to the preceding; the fourth dhyāna has three factors identical to the preceding, adding neither-painful-nor-pleasant feeling, making eleven when added to the preceding.
