28.77

唯生有頂聖，起下盡餘惑者，前約總相，此委細說。謂聖生有頂，必起下地無所有處無漏等至，為盡有頂諸餘煩惱，以自有頂無聖道故，於下聖道欣樂起故。唯起無所有處者，謂最隣近故。

When an ārya is born in the peak of existence, they necessarily give rise to the undefiled samāpatti of the lower stage of the sphere of nothingness in order to eliminate the remaining afflictions of the peak of existence, because their own peak of existence lacks an ārya path, and they joyfully seek to arise the lower ārya path. Arising only the sphere of nothingness is because it is the most proximate.
