釋曰：佛名自覺，無師悟故。涅槃日久，名已歸靜。舍利子等持彼教者今亦隨滅。
The commentary explains: The Buddha is called the 'Self-Awakened One' because he awakened without a teacher. His nirvāṇa being long ago, he is described as 'already returned to quiescence'. Śāriputra and the others who upheld his teaching have now also perished in his wake.
