釋曰：世無依怙，由喪如來及大弟子眾德者故，由此眾生無正法鉤制諸惑象，隨意起執。
The commentary explains: 'The world has no protector' because it has lost the Tathāgata and the great disciples who possessed the multitude of virtues; because of this, sentient beings lack the hook of the true Dharma to restrain the elephant of defilements, giving rise to attachments at will.
