The commentary says: In the lifespans of all places there is premature death, except in Uttarakuru, where it is fixed at one thousand years. This statement that there is premature death in all places is said with respect to the places, not to specific sentient beings, because among the various places there are specific sentient beings who do not die prematurely. Namely: a bodhisattva bound to one last rebirth residing in the Tuṣita heaven; a bodhisattva in his final existence (meaning the body in the royal palace); one prophesied by the Buddha (such as Jyotiṣka); an envoy of the Buddha (such as Jīvaka); a follower by faith or follower by Dharma (a noble person on the path of seeing); a bodhisattva; and the mother of a cakravartin while pregnant with those two fetuses—these likewise have no premature death.
