"Continuity is due to affliction and karma; / it further proceeds to another existence" explains the transmigration through the three existences. That is, it successively increases, up until the continuity of the present skandhas at the end of life, where in the present existence affliction and karma are generated once again. Using these as causes, it further proceeds to another existence.
