將釋此論，略作十門：一、明教起所因；二、藏部所攝；三、顯教分齊；四、教所被機；五、能詮教體；六、所詮宗趣；七、造論時代；八、傳譯緣起；九、釋論題目；十、隨文解釋。

To explain this treatise, ten gates are briefly outlined: first, clarifying the causes for the arising of the teaching; second, subsumption within the Piṭakas and sections; third, revealing the scope of the teachings; fourth, the capacities addressed by the teaching; fifth, the essence of the teaching that expresses [the meaning]; sixth, the central theme and purport that are expressed; seventh, the era when the treatise was composed; eighth, the circumstances of its transmission and translation; ninth, explaining the title of the treatise; tenth, explaining [the text] following the passage.
