種子依雖有二說。解前五識，皆無異解。第七卷中，解依止者，謂前六轉識，以根本識為共親依。共即依現，親即依種。

Although there are two explanations of the seed basis, in explaining the first five consciousnesses there is no difference in explanation. In the seventh fascicle, explaining that which is supported: it refers to the first six evolving consciousnesses taking the fundamental consciousness as their shared and direct basis. "Shared" means relying on the active [consciousness]; "direct" means relying on the seeds.
