一云，二大發一聲，然隨強者判內外也；一云，二大各別發聲，理實有二，二皆說俱，然有增微，故隨增者說一聲為俱。

One states: Two kinds of great elements produce a single sound, but internal or external is judged according to whichever is stronger. Another states: The two great elements each separately produce sound, and in reality there are two sounds, both of which are called 'both'; but there is an increase or decrease, so in accordance with the increased one, a single sound is said to be 'both.'
