解云：自共何定？若說真如，別有離相之相不同於事，即說真如名為自相，即此真如理統萬品還是共相。

It is explained: How could own-characteristic and common characteristic be fixed? If one speaks of tathatā as distinctively having the characteristic of being free from characteristics, unlike concrete phenomena, then tathatā is called the own-characteristic; yet this very principle of tathatā comprehensively governs the myriad phenomena, so it is still a common characteristic.
