十八、趣向心，初明趣地獄心，後類明向四趣，如癭鬼者，有鬼頸有大癭，所逼不能喫食，決擇分說：鬼畜一分恒，受眾苦同於地獄。然此處唯說鬼趣，鬼趣重故略舉之。

Eighteenth, the mind heading toward [rebirth]: first explaining the mind heading toward hell, and next analogously explaining heading toward the four [other] destinies. 'Like a goiter ghost' means there are ghosts with large goiters on their necks, oppressed by which they cannot eat food. The *Viniścayasaṃgrahaṇī* says: 'A portion of ghosts and animals constantly suffer manifold pains identical to hell.' However, here only the ghost destiny is mentioned; because the ghost destiny is grave, it is briefly cited.
