由彼外世非情麁色恒相續住，頓滅實難，故壞由業，內身識託，識在壽存，業盡壽亡，任運易謝。

Because the insentient, coarse matter of that external world abides in constant continuum, for it to be extinguished all at once is truly difficult; hence destruction stems from karma. The internal body is sustained by consciousness: while consciousness is present, life remains; when karma is exhausted, life ends, so it naturally passes away with ease.
