The egg-born bird resides on the eastern side, and fans the water with its wings to part it for two hundred yojanas, seizing egg-born dragons; when the womb-born bird wishes to eat an egg-born dragon, it also ascends the eastern branch, using the same method as before, but when seizing a womb-born dragon, it ascends the southern branch, parting the water for four hundred yojanas, though it cannot seize dragons of the remaining two births; the moisture-born bird, when seizing egg-born or womb-born dragons, uses the same method as before, but to seize moisture-born dragons, it ascends the western branch, fanning the water to part it for eight hundred yojanas; the miraculously born [bird], when seizing dragons born of eggs, wombs, or moisture, uses the same method as before, but to seize miraculously born dragons, it ascends the northern branch, parting the water for one thousand six hundred yojanas, as explained in detail in the Qishi jing and other texts. The humans at the beginning of the kalpa were miraculously born from mind, complete in all faculties, and traveled by soaring through the sky.
