第二明相應品中，文分為六：初、標心及五十三心所法；二、以一切辨五位心所差別，合煩惱隨煩惱為一故；三、辨由根境等諸識生；四、又非五識身有二剎那相隨俱生下，辨心生次第；又五、識能了別事之總相下，明心心所行相；六、作意云何下，明遍行別境二位心所體業差別。

In the second [section], "Explaining the Chapter on Conjunction," the text is divided into six parts: first, indicating mind and the fifty-three mental factors; second, distinguishing the five categories of mental factors by means of "all," because afflictions and secondary afflictions are combined into one; third, distinguishing the arising of the various consciousnesses based on faculties, objects, and so forth; fourth, under "Furthermore, the five groups of consciousness do not have two moments arising co-naturally in succession," distinguishing the sequence of mental arisings; fifth, under "Furthermore, consciousness can cognize the general characteristics of things," explaining the modes of activity of mind and mental factors; sixth, under "What is attention?," explaining the differences in essence and activity between the two categories of mental factors: universal and particular.
