嗢拕喃者，此云集施。拕南是施。嗢是集義，以少略言集合多法。施諸學者令易受持，故名集施。

"Uddāna" here means "collected bestowal" (jishi). -dāna means "bestowal". Ud- has the sense of "collecting": by means of concise and abbreviated words, it gathers together many dharmas. It bestows them upon all learners to make them easy to accept and uphold, hence it is called "collected bestowal".
