In giving through all gates, regarding 'having four aspects in brief': if relying on the old treatise, there are five sections of text, four of which are identical to the new treatise. There is another clause: 'giving what one has gathered oneself.' For this reason, the figures of old counted the four gates differently: parents are the first, wives and children are the second, servants and hired hands are the third, and good friends and ministers are the fourth. Now, relying on the new treatise, one's own wealth is the first, wealth obtained by converting others is the second, giving to relatives, parents, and so forth is the third, and giving to those who come begging is the fourth. The former two are divided according to the wealth; the latter are divided according to the recipients of the gift.
