利行四中，初一、於無德善人隨順心轉；二、於有德善人讚揚實德。言若隱若露等者，或在屏處或在眾前歎他實德。三、於有過軟性有情調伏驅擯。於下品者調伏，中品者訶責治罰，上品者驅擯。四、於有情過剛強惡人神力制伏。

Among the four kinds of beneficial conduct: first, having a compliant mind toward virtuous persons who lack special qualities; second, praising the genuine virtues of virtuous persons who possess special qualities. The phrase 'whether in private or in public', etc., means praising another's genuine virtues either in seclusion or before the assembly. Third, subduing and expelling sentient beings of soft nature who have faults: subduing the inferior, rebuking and punishing the middling, and expelling the superior. Fourth, subduing excessively obstinate, evil sentient beings through supernormal powers.
