報恩施中，具前十一相。景云：初是報恩施，可解。次於彼事業已下，明報恩施中同事。次於如理說，於方便說者，報恩施中愛語。次於濟怖畏，於衰惱處開解愁憂者，明報恩施中無畏施，二句可解。於惠資具者，報恩施內財施名惠資具。於與依止者，報恩施內法施，下，有四句於報恩施利行。於隨心轉者，於無德善人，隨其事轉。於顯實德令深歡悅者，於有德善人讚德令悅。於懷親愛方便調伏者，於有過軟心調伏驅擯。於現神通者，是第十一，於有剛強現通，折伏驚恐引攝。如應廣說當知亦爾者，如為驚恐所以現通，為欲引攝現通亦爾。泰云：祥處設座者，吉祥好處設床座也。

In giving to repay favors, it possesses the aforementioned eleven marks. Jing says: The first is giving to repay favors, which can be understood. Next, from 'in their undertakings' downward explains identical actions within giving to repay favors. Next, 'in speaking in accordance with the Dharma, in speaking through skill in means' is affectionate speech within giving to repay favors. Next, 'in rescuing from terror, in resolving sorrow and grief in times of decline and anguish' explains the giving of fearlessness within giving to repay favors; these two phrases can be understood. 'In giving provisions': material giving within giving to repay favors is called giving provisions. 'In providing shelter': Dharma-giving within giving to repay favors. Below, there are four phrases of beneficial actions within giving to repay favors. 'In adapting to the mind': regarding virtuous people lacking merit, adapting to their activities. 'In manifesting genuine virtues to make them deeply rejoice': regarding virtuous people possessing merit, praising virtues to make them rejoice. 'In taming with affection through skill in means': regarding those with faults who have soft minds, taming and banishing them. 'In manifesting supernormal powers': this is the eleventh, regarding those who are stubborn, manifesting supernormal powers to subdue, frighten, and attract them. 'As should be extensively explained, it should be known that it is also thus': just as supernormal powers are manifested to frighten, they are also manifested to attract. Tai says: 'Arranging seats in an auspicious place' means arranging couches and seats in an auspicious and fine place.
