第二明能授師大乘菩薩學戒，依善生優婆塞戒經，二十師羯磨受如似六法尼。梵網經說：於佛菩薩形像前自誓受戒，若懺悔見好相便得戒，若不得好相不得戒，若現前受菩薩戒，師前受戒時不須要見好相，若千里內無能授戒師，得佛菩薩前受戒而要見好相。

Second, explaining the preceptor who can bestow the training precepts of a Mahāyāna bodhisattva: according to the Upāsakaśīlasūtra, it is conferred by a karman of twenty masters, just like [the ordination of] a nun of the six dharmas. The Fanwang jing states that one vows and receives the precepts before images of the Buddhas and bodhisattvas; if through repentance one sees an auspicious sign, one then obtains the precepts, but if one does not obtain an auspicious sign, one does not obtain the precepts. If one receives the bodhisattva precepts face-to-face, when receiving them before a master, there is no need to see an auspicious sign; if within a thousand li there is no master who can bestow the precepts, one may receive them before the Buddhas and bodhisattvas, but must see an auspicious sign.
