三藏觀此間無人受菩薩戒，故不肯翻，諸德或夢得羯磨文示於三藏，三藏云：遂為流行，別有羯磨正同此論，此文中能受師問受戒菩薩，皆答言能，不同受比丘戒三羯磨時，無問答也。

The Tripiṭaka Master [Xuanzang] observed that no one here was receiving the bodhisattva precepts, and so was unwilling to translate it; various virtuous monks had dreams obtaining the karman text and showed it to the Tripiṭaka Master, whereupon the Tripiṭaka Master said that it should be circulated, and there was another karman text identical to this treatise. In this text, the master who bestows asks the bodhisattva receiving the precepts, and they all answer 'I can'; this is unlike receiving the bhikṣu precepts, where at the time of the three karmans there is no question and answer.
