次明起下中纏犯戒不捨上纏即捨。言非諸菩薩暫一現行乃至即便棄捨別解脫戒者，景云：如小乘中，經部、上座部、正量部等說，皆云：於三品纏中隨起何纏犯初重罪即捨律儀。唯薩婆多起三品纏犯他勝處皆不捨戒。

Next, explaining that when a lower or middle entanglement arises, one transgresses the precept but does not forfeit it, whereas when an upper entanglement arises, one forfeits it. Regarding the statement 'It is not that when bodhisattvas manifest it just once [...] they immediately abandon the prātimokṣa precepts': Jing says that as in the Hīnayāna, the Sautrāntikas, Sthaviras, Saṃmitīyas, and others all say that whichever of the three grades of entanglement arises, committing the first major offense immediately abandons the moral discipline. Only the Sarvāstivādins hold that committing a defeat under any of the three grades of entanglement does not abandon the precepts.
