論通云：雖諸菩薩為自命難亦有不依正所知境說於妄語。然今說為救有情知而思擇，故說妄語。
The treatise resolves this by saying: Although bodhisattvas also have instances of speaking false speech not relying on the correct object of knowledge for the sake of their own life-threatening danger, what is spoken of now is speaking false speech deliberately and with deliberation for the sake of rescuing sentient beings.
