From 'Furthermore, all bodhisattvas...' down to 'if not experiencing an error' is the second [part], which clarifies receiving [the precepts] with a self-hindered mind. If based on the Yingluo jing, there are three kinds of reception: First, receiving directly from a Buddha or bodhisattva while they are in the world is called the highest-grade morality; second, receiving from an ordinary person who has received the bodhisattva precepts after the Buddha's parinirvāṇa is called the middle-grade morality; third, if there is no one to confer them within a thousand li, one must repent and eliminate [transgressions] over a long period, obtain an auspicious and wholesome sign, and only then receive them, which is called the lowest-grade morality.
