10.36

菩薩欲於前說五品七法所應學處精勤修學，先應發願願，是勝解，解已求法，自既求法，應為他說，說已應自修行，自既修已復教授他令其修善，復教誡他令其斷惡，他住授誡，便能攝起善身語意。

A bodhisattva wishing to diligently cultivate and learn with respect to the stations of what should be learned in the seven dharmas of the previously explained five chapters must first give rise to vows. Vows are resolute faith (adhimukti); having resolute faith, one seeks the Dharma; having sought the Dharma oneself, one should expound it for others; having expounded it, one should practice it oneself; having practiced it oneself, one further instructs others to cause them to cultivate goodness, and further admonishes them to cause them to sever evil; when others abide in instruction and admonition, they are then able to gather and give rise to wholesome bodily, vocal, and mental [karma].
