Regarding the seven, such as the morality of cessation: Jing says: The first is the morality of moral restraint; the second is the morality of engaging in action, which is the two clusters of precepts: gathering wholesome qualities and gathering sentient beings; the third is the morality of safeguarding, which comprehensively protects the preceding two to form the third; the latter four are fruitions: the fourth, the ripened morality of the marks of a great person, is the three clusters of precepts attaining the marks of nirvāṇa; the fifth, the ripened morality of the higher mind, is the preceding three clusters attaining the fruitions of the two higher realms; the sixth, the ripened morality of agreeable arising, is the preceding three clusters of precepts attaining the fruitions of humans and devas in the desire realm; the seventh, the ripened morality of benefiting sentient beings, corresponds to the fruition of the morality of benefiting others.
