10.451

擐甲中云其心勇悍等有四句：初、明其勇悍；二、若我為脫一有情苦者，明所為，故對法云：所為最勝為利益安樂一切有情故。三、以千大劫乃至亦無退屈者明長時，故對法云：長時最勝經三千劫阿僧祇耶所積集故。四、於求無上正等菩提下，明究竟迴向，故對法云：無盡最勝由迴向大菩提究竟無盡。

Under [the vīrya of] putting on armor, the passage stating "its mind is valiant," etc., has four clauses: First, it clarifies its valiance. Second, "even if, for the sake of liberating a single sentient being from suffering...": this clarifies its purpose; therefore the Abhidharmasamuccaya says: "Supreme in purpose, because it benefits and brings peace and happiness to all sentient beings." Third, "for thousands of great eons... still without discouragement": this clarifies the long duration; therefore the Abhidharmasamuccaya says: "Supreme in long duration, because it is accumulated over three asaṃkhyeya kalpas." Fourth, under "regarding the pursuit of unsurpassed, complete bodhi": this clarifies the ultimate dedication; therefore the Abhidharmasamuccaya says: "Supreme in inexhaustibility, because its ultimate [aim] is inexhaustible through dedication to great bodhi."
