基云：可意語，謂不離間。諦語，謂不妄語。法語，謂不麁惡，引攝義語不綺語。又未必配之，但隨一一皆有此四。

Ji states: Pleasing speech refers to non-divisive speech. Truthful speech refers to non-false speech. Dharma speech refers to non-harsh speech. Speech leading to benefit refers to non-frivolous speech. Alternatively, it is not necessarily matched this way; rather, each individual one can possess these four.
